11th November – 18th December
Christkindelmarkt, Leeds
This is one of the most established German Christmas Markets in the UK, with traditional wooden stalls, festive greenery, Christmas carousel rides and twinkling colourful lights, all creating a unique continental festive atmosphere in the heart of the city centre. Set in the award-winning Millennium Square, Christkindelmarkt attracts thousands of visitors each year and combines more than 40 wooden chalet stalls offering a wide range of seasonal gift ideas for everyone including toys, jewellery, Christmas cards and festive decorations, speciality foods and traditional German delicacies.

17th-20th November
The market is held in the historic Montpellier Quarter of Harrogate town centre and is filled with high quality local products. This year it is expected to have nearly 200 stalls selling everything from Yorkshire cheeses and chutneys to handmade gifts and Christmas decorations. Not forgetting Santa’s Grotto and real reindeer! Among the highlights will be the large craft and gift marquee, a food and drink marquee, funfair rides and musical entertainment by local buskers. Montpellier Quarter, Harrogate, Yorkshire.

17th November – 23rd December
St Nicolas Fayre, York
Wooden chalets and twinkling lights line the busy streets of York, as stallholders sell unique gifts including jewellery, homeware, crafts and local wines and cheeses, and scents of hot mulled wine and roasted chestnuts fill the air. There is the very best in local farm produce as well as international delicacies from France and Germany. Choirs and bands help create a wonderful seasonal atmosphere. 17th – 18th November
The fair celebrates the best of local arts, country crafts and seasonal gifts including jewellery, ceramics and tree decorations, scented soaps and handmade chocolates. There’s also a visit from Santa, traditional organ music and children’s craft making activities. Opening times are 10am-4pm.

19th November – 24th December
This is a market of traditional wooden cabins which offer a huge choice of seasonal gifts, treats and food. Santa has his very own Lapland cabin. The market is open daily 10am-6pm (8pm Wednesdays) until Christmas Eve. Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield, Yorkshire.

3rd -11th December
This famous festival never disappoints. The Yorkshire Dales village is alive with Christmas lights and entertainment, a traditional market with shopkeepers in Victorian dress. There is festive food, dancing, music, street entertainers and exhibitions of traditional country crafts. Grassington, Yorkshire.

December 4th
Victorian Fayre and Christmas Market, Otley
Step back in time at this lovely market, where stallholders and entertainers dress in Victorian costume to create a truly festive atmosphere, perfect for a family day out. Shops and stallholders offer a wide range of gift ideas and there are plenty of treats to enjoy on the day. Otley Courthouse, Courthouse St, Otley

4th – 11th December
Find all your Christmas gifts at Skipton’s famous market and range of independent and high street brand shops. The market runs the full length of the High Street alongside many local charity and gift stalls. Plus a full range of Christmas entertainment and a traditional Christmas carol service. 11th December
Join in the fun of this Christmas shopping bonanza including arts and crafts, children’s toys and games, home ware, local food and drink plus street entertainment. Beverley Town Centre, Beverley, Yorkshire.
